Anyone who believe in God can be close to him, hence seek and receive guidance, protection, and other types of help, irrespective of religion and religious congregation like churches in the case of Christians. A believer of God does not even need to belong to a religion or a religious congregation to receive God's help. That is because, religions and their congregations are in strict scientific terms mere human organizations for worshiping God together, in agreed systematic manners deemed to be most effective for communicating with God. That is why, most religions and religious congregations particularly churches, require memberships, with non-members often excluded from key roles and activities. In many countries religions and religious congregations must be officially registered as non-profits.

Been a member of a religion or a religious congregation does not necessarily imply closeness to God. One has to live in a way that distances him/her from Satan to be close to God, and if membership to a religion or a religious congregation can facilitate that, then it is very good! At the same time, those who choose not to belong to any religion or religious congregation, but believe in God, can also be close to God if their lives are characterized with choices and decisions that distance them from Satan. Therefore, believing in God with or without affiliation to a religion or religious congregation must be buttressed by appropriate choices and decisions as an individual or member of society, in order to ensure closeness to God.

Within the confines of the above spiritual context, it means that people who believe in God and are close to him, can worship and pray to him where ever they feel comfortable to do so. Those who are religious may prefer to do so in applicable religious congregation venues like churches.
